The story

Bimby’s past is heartbreaking. While being spayed, veterinarians discovered shrapnel and a bullet lodged in her gums—evidence that she had been shot at some point in her life. Yet despite the trauma she endured, Bimby has never lost her capacity to love.

She spent months overlooked in a North Carolina shelter and was ultimately scheduled for euthanasia when overcrowding became critical. Thankfully, rescue gave Bimby a second chance. With veterinary care, patience, and plenty of love, she is finally beginning to heal and experience the kindness she deserves.

The truth is, Bimby was failed by humans.

Somewhere along the way, she learned that she couldn’t always trust the people around her. Because of that, she needs an experienced adopter who understands that trust isn't something you can force.

Bimby will need time. She will need space. She will need patience.

Her person may not be able to walk into a meet-and-greet and immediately win her over. In fact, Bimby will likely need more than one meeting before she feels comfortable enough to truly let someone into her world. And that's okay. Her forever person will have to be willing to come back. To sit with her. To let her decide when she’s ready. To celebrate the smallest victories.
