Start by completing an adoption application. This gives us the opportunity to learn more about you, your lifestyle, your experience with pets, and what you’re looking for in a dog.

We’ll review your application and, if applicable, verify that current or previous pets are up to date on veterinary care.

We’ll also schedule a phone interview to talk about your experience, expectations, and what type of dog may be the best fit for your home.

If your application is approved, we’ll schedule a home check. This helps us make sure your home and environment are safe, comfortable, and ready for your new dog.

Now comes the fun part! You’ll have the opportunity to meet the dog you’re interested in, either in your home or at another approved location. This gives everyone a chance to get to know each other and see if it feels like the right match.

If everything feels right, you’ll begin a 7-day trial adoption. Before the trial can begin, the adoption fee must be paid and all required adoption paperwork and the adoption contract must be completed and signed. The 7-day trial gives you and your new pup time to adjust, settle into a routine, and see how you fit together in everyday life.

If the 7-day trial is a success and you and your new pup are the perfect match, it’s time to make it official! 🥳🐾 Your adoption is finalized, and your new best friend officially becomes part of your family. ❤️🏡 🏡 After Adoption: The 3-3-3 Rule Once your adoption is complete, we encourage adopters to follow the 3-3-3 rule: 3 Days: Your new dog may need time to decompress and feel safe in their new surroundings. 3 Weeks: They’ll begin adjusting to their new routine, learning the household, and showing more of their personality. 3 Months: With patience, consistency, and love, many dogs begin to truly feel at home and settle into their new life. Remember, every dog is different. Some may adjust quickly, while others need more time. Patience, consistency, and understanding can make all the difference. ❤️
